Another snake bite victim today, might be time for a snake cull. Once they have the taste for human blood they won't stop or is WA being patrolled by a rouge snake. Figure Noob head Barnett will be getting out his drum lines shortly.

First I have heard of the 'open season' on snakes 'threatening' human life. All seems a bit ambiguous to me.

I agree, if a snake is posing an immediate danger to your loved ones and you can't get an expert to remove the animal, then it is unfortunate but kill it. Peoples perception of 'immediate danger' will vary a great deal. I think the use of the term 'open season' is probably a poor choice of words also. I think the media is being as irresponsible as ever with the title of an article 'the law that let's you kills snakes', the people who are likely to kill snakes would do so anyway, all that bringing this to the publics attention in this way is going to do is encourage people to get close to snakes in an attempt to kill them.

Happy whacking day! :)

Once again the media being complete dicks reporting about things of which they have absolutely no idea about. All this will do is endanger the lives of snakes and the idiots that are trying to kill them for being a "threat".

Bloody hell, if a snake is in my yard it's gonna be killed before it gets my dogs again BUT if it's in the bush just go another way. I'm sure to stumble across a few this summer in my travels, just need to be aware and ready to change direction

I feel sorry for the snake expert pictured.

Reckon he copped it at school for having the last name Ladyman?!

That's probably why he talks to snakes, they don't take the piss out of him :P

The Department of Park and Wildlife has confirmed WA residents can kill snakes without penalty - so long as they feel immediately threatened by the slithery customer.

LOL i better keep my trouser snake in my pants

imagine how many people are gonna get smashed from trying to kill a snake now
