Hi all

Anyone had experience with the range of Blue Planet Tanks? Google reveals very little. I think they are distributed by Master Pets. They come with built-in T5 lighting, top filter, stand etc.

I picked up a brand new 160L corner unit today for an absolute bargain! Now just to rearrange the house so I can fit it in with the others wink.gif

Sourced it from City Farmers in Willetton. It's the first time I've seen this brand in a store and it costs about half the price of the Aqua One equiv.

I'll take some pics and do a review on it soon. It arrived yesterday! smile.gif

It's a Blue Planet Serenelife Environments Professional Series Aquarium EG518 Paridiso. Google brings back very little. But I found this site http://www.aa-aquari...?id=187&level=2 . I assume MasterPets are rebadging these as their own.

yes they are manufactored by "aa" and resold by master pet as blue planets, i have only delt with there hexy tanks and have never had a problem with them, they only thing i have noticed on the large hexy that come with the stand is that the stands are a bit flimsy, not that i have ever had a problem just something ive noticed also depending on what you are keeping you may want to upgrade the filtration its a bit week, would be fine for a low stocked tank, but would be pushing to handle a large bioload.

Just curious
Why is it that as soon as something is "cheap" some people deem it not as good.
The truth of the matter is in a lot of cases people tend to be paying a premium price for the brand name.
I have used many so called cheap brands and have found that the majority are excellent.
Just a thought wink.gif

Perhaps he made his judgement based on the pic in the link....

These tanks are put together really well and have lots of positives and few negatives. I've avoided some of the other "cheap" brands as like Jebo etc coz I find them a bit too plasticy and restrictive etc but this tank def stands out when it comes to quality.

I'll take some pics and do a review some time over the weekend.

Well if they're AA tanks and judging by our experiences with AA tanks, well specifically the lighting, don't be suprised when you need to retrofit something into it in a years time tongue.gif

Big w had a small 20l "panoramic" with built in light, filter etc. I bought one and ive replaced it three time due to the light fittings not being sealed properly.
They changed the design after a while though, and that ones been going for quite some time. (I just kept the reciept so i never was out of pocket btw).

So maybe just check the seals on the lights, But it looks good wink.gif
