The most popular L number catfish in Australia and possibly the world.
It is found in most people's aquarium.
They are easy to breed, aren't overly aggressive and do a great job cleaning up left over food and algae.
They shouldn't be treated as just a cleaner though and should be fed on a high quality diet.

Males have a very "bushy" nose and females don't, some females will get some bristles but not many and usually just around the very edge of the face.
BN's aren't fussy when it comes to water conditions, I have kept them in low pH as well as high. I find they do better in higher pH around 7.2
Make sure to have some wood in the tank if you breeding them as the fry like to eat it as well as the adults.

This is the Albino Long Fin variant, I find these are the most aggressive out of all the BN's.
