That tank I won is amazing! My fish have no idea what to do with them selves, as this tank is like huge compared to there old one!
Glad to see you're making you're own tank! You feel more accomplished when you do things you're self I recon smile.gif
Maybe I can do a bargain for a tank stand for mine tongue.gif I'll cook and you can create biggrin.gif a haha!

And my now feral convicts haha have the jewels old 5ft tank!! Making babies I hope haha

The new 'cube' cycling at the moment, it has a cf500 canister and a 1000lt/hr internal. I have put in the bracing for the lid and painted 2 sides black. The sand is gin gin quartz riversand and there's a few shells in there too smile.gif

looks good mate, how deep is your substrate? ive got an 18" cube with multis and substrate is 4" deep but in a week they had allready dug down to the glass, its incredible how fast a fish that size can dig!

I've got 3" of sand in there smile.gif the fish are in now and I've added a couple more larger shells for them smile.gif I have 5 multis in there and loving it smile.gif

hwy riggerton what silicone did you use is it a special brand just for aqueriums or is just a random brand

Selleys Glass silicone for aquarium use. In a blue tube.
You can buy it from Bunnings.

Thats the one mate, it's around $8 at bunnings and I use it for small tanks, bracing, patches, repairs. When I'm doing large tanks or working with 10mm glass I use Bostik V2 construction strength silicon smile.gif
