this has probably been done before but I'd prefer it if you didnt steal my thunder.
I had some off cuts of egg crate which I thought I could use to sink my zuchini in the b/n tank, as I did one it chnaged a little and I tried some gutter gaurd as well.

appologies for the iphone pics but you will get the idea.

eggcrate / gutter gaurd cut to size, cable tied together & siliconed to a flat stone / object of your choice (provided it has weight)

I'm impressed with the effort you have gone to but for me I just jab them with a folk to hold it down, lazy fish keepers guide 101.

if you blanch the zuchini (lightly boil it in a pan) it will naturaly sink .
no need for an weight to hold it down.

blanching vegies does not remove the goodness from them.

Yes but they tend to go soggy and break up quicker, I like to leave mine in until it's all eaten, usually by the 3rd day all I have is a piece of skin

I put mine in a little bowl of water and stick it in the microwave for a minute or two, and then it usually sinks or I put an edge under the driftwood. My bn's and betta finish it off (including the skin!) quite quickly smile.gif

that looks the part with the gutter guard. well done.

the fork works for me im lazy... as for leaving it in there for 3 days. sometimes i struggle to find the skin after then. but then again 6 bristlenose at 10cm will do that if there hungry and not rooting around.

i might have to give that a go in one corner of the tank.

good luck and cheers
