Put it this way because you do it in dribs and drabs, it seems cheaper in the long run I dont' think so. I know Oliver at aquotix has his own planted tank and its awesome, not sure of another sponser who does, speak to those that know is my advice...Lighting is critical, so is Co2, both necessary for a flourishing tank...Speak to Dr Olly....he won't let you down.

Hi,

I've made my own t5 units before, depending on where you source the bits from and if you have a sparky handy, it can be slightly cheaper. There's no warranty when building your own unit though and buying units from a store could save you $$ in the end smile.gif

Cheers

Speak to people at prolamps. Disclaimer, Don't do it unless a sparky says so. Also if your going to use t5ho globes the end where the manufacturers stamp is requires active cooling for maximum lamp life and par output.

Most of the lighting I buy direct from Osram but as Simon said prolamps are the lighting gurus.. It's a fairly pricey retail outlet but has just about everything!

These guys helped me about 6 years ago when I made my T5HO light unit ( 8 x 54 Watt )
Everyone else then looked at me funny when I made enquiries.

Good luck
