Hi Guy's,

What's the maximum size for these guy's? It seems to vary everywhere I look.

How aggressive are Mdoka? Community or Non-community?

What's the breeding age for Mdoka? How difficult is breeding? Are the fry easy to raise?

There almost impossible to sex by looking at them. I had 10 of them and I thort there was 6 girls until I vented them and only had 2. I sold off the extra males now.
The price is ok but if you wand to breed them take someone with you who knows what there doing to vent them first because you don't want to get stuck with them all being male.

My breeding colony ranges from 10cm to about 14cm and are about 3 years old now. Mine have a lot more white around the mouth, I'm guessing the ones in your photos are a bit younger than that. My females are smaller than the males, but that's the only way I can tell them apart - haven't tried to vent them. They do go for long periods without spawning, but a couple of big water changes did the trick for me.

Cheers
Brenton

I think most in the picture are males but without venting you won't know for sure.
Just my experience with them.

Do these guy's have rounded fin for girls like most other adult cichlids? It does appear that some have rounded dorsal and anal fins, while some have pointed, which I would suggest are male.
