Similar to this idea - Aquotix have organised to get a few of these via one of our friends from over east..... they have not hit Oz shores yet, but they are on order.

This Is sooo much better, peroxide very slowly decomposes to water and oxygen.
Straight peroxide to the tank is fine, but does not provide oxygen straight away in the event of a power outage. Not to mention that straight peroxide can also "burn" a select few sensitive plants if you have them.

The product above contains the peroxide in a sealed container with a manganese oxide bead that acts as a catalylist vastly speeding up the reaction of the decomposition of peroxide into water and oxygen. This means that straight oxygen is supplied into the water when the fish need it most during a power outage.

2 H2O2 (much quicker with the help of the catalylist) ---> O2 + 2 H2O

This is also good for just supplying a tank with oxygen for many reasons:

Reducing and elimiating algae, promoting filter bacteria health for a healthy aquarium and promoting good fish health among many other benifits.

Supplying a tank with adaqute oxygen levels is quite important and this product offers a quick and convient alternative to say an airstone that requires a power point., and is very much more effect as it supplies the tank directly with oxygen, diffusing it straight into the water instead of pumping air with only 30 odd percent of oxygen.

Whatever tank you have these are an excellent idea, as soon as these are available here I will purchase mine so I can maintain high oxygen in my almost stagnant, high CO2 level, planted tank.

They look to be really promising.
