Hi all,

I'm using the fluval drop checker solution in a glass drop checker. I've always found the fluval drop checkers a little hard to read and have been worried about leaking so recently swapped to a glass drop checker. Copied a link below I found for reference on the product.

My understanding is that this solution is pre-mixed and I don't have to worry about 4dkh solution, etc. Seems to be a bit of confusion on threads but the instructions say nothing about mixing anything. So not 100% certain I'm using it correctly.

Out of the bottle it is blue but in the tank it is consistently green after say 12hrs. Perhaps a slight blue'ish tinge just before co2 comes on.

And then every time I check it, the drop checker is always green.

Wondering if anyone has used this product? I'm not sure if I'm using it correctly or what it is telling me. Thanks!

Just thinking I might turn the CO2 off for a few days and see if I get and colour change in the drop checker at all.

Stuff grows, no algae - should probably not tempt fate.....

As long as the KH in your aquarium is around 4KH, then the level of CO2 in your aquarium is optimal.

If it comes out of the bottle blue (depending on brand - some are deep orange) and it changes colour eventually in the aquarium, then all good

Thanks for the reply. That's the trouble - no colour change I can detect really. No kids soccer on the weekend so I'll try an experiment. At the moment it comes out blue, goes to green and that's it. Actually just thinking I'll try taking some photos as well.

I think the CO2 drop checker solution I have isn't working but would be handy to check. To me there is hardly any colour change? On the weekend I'll shift the drop checker closer to the CO2 injection point.

CO2 off for 12 hours.

CO2 on for 2 hours. I've looked at this drop checker a few times now at different times during the day and it just all looks green to me.
