Its been a while since I posted any pics of my L acuticeps, and last week while doing water changes they were battling, so grabbed some shots while another tank was filling up.

Winner gets the girl

Battle scars, notice the jaws are a bit crooked now, they straighten up after a couple of days.

Cheers

Nope, females get eggbound, which causes bloat, which causes death.
I have had a couple of mouthfuls, but no success yet.

We'll get there eventually!

I am doing my best Az! smile.gif

Danny they are one of my favourites. Their colours are amazing! They get up to 30cm apparantly, they are around 17cm now.
Housed in an 8x2x2 with some small Rostratus.
I plan on adding some C Moorii as well when I find some I like at the right size for the right price!
I'm hoping I can get them to replicate their feeding in the wild, with the Acuticeps and Rostratus sifting the sand and the Moorii tailing them looking for bits they missed.

Cheer for the comments smile.gif

Awesome mate...will be great to see them when they hit max size...hopefully you will get your dream realised with the wild feeding behaviour...they have a good shot at it on an 8x2x2. OrangeBemba has some great quality C. Moorii...heaps of juvies not sure if he has any adults for sale or how much they would be but his breeding stock are exceptional quality. Good luck mate,
Danny

They were trying to breed again tonight when I fed them... fingers crossed smile.gif
Must be something causing it, I have had ALOT of my fish breed in the last week, and I know of others having fish breeding that havent before recently.

I am pulling out the secret weapon some time this week, I that doesnt get me a mouthful in a month I will be surprised.

Full tank shot

The D cave Nick?
Just a normal BN.
I have a pair in there being my cleanup crew, but I doubt they will breed, they are around 6 years old and about 15cm.

They are getting moved into the Fronty tank soon and my Gibby will be going in there.

I noticed today that Vebas had HEAPS in their tanks and were sellig them for a good price.
I might have to buy 4 new Gibbis for in there...
