Hi I have just stocked up a 4 ft aquarium It has the following fish in it at the moment

2 albino baby oscars

5 small pleco catfish

4 small pictus catfish

4 small silver sharks

2 small black sharks

Also has about 5 or 6 guppys to keep the oscars happy

the tank has a aqua one 1000 filter on it but I am thinking about getting a 1500lph Power Head Filter in there as well I think the pictus will like the extra currant as they seem to play around the discharge end of my filter at night but I don't know about the others, also my flat mate is moving out soon so does any one know of a auto feeder that works well for these fish I work FiFo week turn about and will need to keep them happy until I can get someone else to move in

Hi and welcome. Is your tank new and if so, have you cycled it? Have a look in the technical section of this forum for all the info you need to keep your fish alive.
If the tank is not cycled yet and you cannot attend to it every few days due to work, probably best to sell the fish back to the shop as they are likely to die from ammonia poisoning in your absence.

Then start up again when there is someone there who can do partial water changes every few days while the tank cycles.

I cycled it through the week before the guys at midland pet aquarium centre were nice enough to give me instructions on how to go through it and some of there bio gunk from one of there filters, I'm also annoying my flat mate asking for consist updates on how the water looks and how the fish are

great to hear smile.gif
in terms of auto feeders, I heard good things about the Eheim model. things to watch out for is that there are mechanisms to prevent the food from becoming moist and thus moldy, and that the dosage is accurate.
