So the Frontosa tank is operational but incomplete and I'm thinking that sandsifters would be great to keep the substrate refreshed.

How many would I need?

What should I get?

How big are they?

What do I feed them?

Anyone got some for sale?

Thanks y'all.

If your wanting to stick to specie biotype specific, then Furcifer's as they're reasonable size,,, melanogenys and ochragenys would be fine to but would need to be close to adult size and the larger ones are fairly expensive.

But if your ok with mixing species from other regions,,,, then two good size Geophagus (not brasiliensis), will do miracles for you.

Yes, get some of those spoonbills on Aquotix's list (Gnathochromis permaxillaris).

Thanks. I'll be sticking to Tangs so the Furcifers are go.
What about multis? Will they work too?

I totally kept multis with my colony of fronts, they picked on the fronties whenever they swam past their shells.... Tough little fish and an excellent addition to your tank mate! Especially since you have 10ft to play with!! I still want to see pics of the plumbing as well :)

Thanks mate. Unfortunately there's nothing special with the plumbing as I didn't go with the sump after all but here is a few of what I did.

First image shows (from top left);
Mains pressure in via solenoid to water fill/drain pipe. (Front)

Fill/drain pipe down to pre filter.

To zero differential solenoid.

Emergency overflow.

And out to soak well.

Second image as above but with a better view of ZD solenoid and overflow plumbing.

I'll update my frosty post too.

Cheers mate.
