Trade Name(s): Spectabilis
Distribution: Lake-wide distribution
Habitat: Sandy Habitat
Diet: Piscivore (Mainly fish)
Sexing: Males have a bluish head with a greenish yellow body.
Females are silver with a green tinge & display the juvenile band running form the top of the head to the caudal.
Maximum Size: 20cm
Temperature: 24 to 26c
pH: 7.5 to 9.0
Water Hardness: 300-400ppm
Availability: Rarely Available in Oz. This species is very rarely seen, I have only been offered them once.
They are a smaller Bucco and IMO should be more popular as they would be more suited to a community Hap tank.
