Scientific Name: Buccochromis lepturus
Pronunciation: Book-o-chro-mis lept-tar-rus
Trade Name(s): Lepturus
Distribution: Lake-wide distribution
Habitat: Sandy Habitat
Diet: Piscivore (Mainly fish)
Sexing: Males are beautifully colored with yellow scales and a bluish head.
Females are silver with the juvenile band running form the top of the head to the caudal.
Maximum Size: 40cm
Temperature: 24 to 26c
pH: 7.5 to 9.0
Water Hardness: 300-400ppm
Availability: Rarely Available in Oz.

No worries. Hopefully more will see the beauty of these fish and want them in there tanks. There isn't many around but this male is breeding now and hopefully be able to share the love around Australia and let others enjoy them as much as me.

Thanks Guys. I've had 5 mouthfuls in the last 2 months from these beautiful fish and had 35 in the smallest batch but generally 100 ish in a mouthful. Biggest was 107 in a batch. 

I will keep 100 or so to grow out for another 2 colonies just in case anything happens to the adults in the future since they can be very territorial even in big tanks. 

I seriously could watch these fish all day long. The predator personality and attitude is so awesome and there very active fish.
