So on the weekend, I got myself a nice prized fish to finish off my tank collection - for now.

Hopefully it will last long term and not cause to much trouble as hes already showing a bit of interest in my rays (which has got me stumped as thought the flagtail may have been more fun to harass).

Oh, an that esky is 620mm wide, so hes quite a large fish.....

My new Jardini!!

Appears to be  doing really well, haven't tried to feed, will wait a couple days, let him get used to it all.

I'm stoked, just hoping it all works out longterm.

I'd say $15 a week for my fishes, I buy bulk size protein pellets, and feed alto of frozen seafoods (including coral prawns, whitebait and squid).

This big guy has spent a life on mealworms and crickets, so will be hunting crickets over the next few weeks until I can try to wean him hopefully onto something more staple.

Actually that seems alright. I thought it would be much worse on food bill.

Awesome fish, best of luck with him.

Life of mealworms and crickets seems to have agreed with him getting to such an impressive size. Best of luck getting him onto prepared foods. Must have cost the previous owner a fortune to feed.

Thanks guys.

Alex - yeah as we said the other day, hopefully he wont be a jerk and chew on the other fishes.

Funny how I've seen jardinis that are isolated for life for being nasty and then others living peacefully in a community tank, hope I got the latter.

Ill make sure I give my tanks a nice water change the day before so it'll look schmick!

Actually that seems alright. I thought it would be much worse on food bill.

In saying that though, I only have 10 fish total over 2 fish tanks - plus 5 sting ray pups growing out in tubs.

Hasn't eaten for a week, appears to be healthy and not stressed, so I'm not worried.

Touch wood, hes remaining peaceful...... for now.

Finally met Johnno on the weekend and bought some plants! Scaped the driftwood a bit to add some colour, will post pics in the coming day or two - thanks again Johnno

Windelov JF, probably one of the more tougher plants that could tolerate rowdy tank mates.

Tough to prune that’s for sure. Well, the narrow leaf variety anyways.
