I ended up with the runts as I was selling off the aggressive bigger ones to save the smaller ones.

Most people who bought them were fine from what I know, but mine never did too well.

Didn't help they were such guzzlers. The amount of dead ones I found from 5cm ones choking to death from trying to eat a 4.5cm one and it getting caught in the throat.

The issue was because I was constantly scooping fish out of the tank for other buyers I had to keep it barren, so no hidey holes for the smaller ones.

You need to fill it with hidey holes and they should be fine.

And feed lots.

Fat bellies means no eating the ever so slightly smaller ones.

And now I have moved house, sold everything and changed to owning a boat and tow car instead.

Hence me not logging on here much very often.

But once we move into a new office for work I'm putting a 10x3x3 tank full of big Americans in reception. Then its a tax deduction too!

Nope. Nikon and patience with Finger on button!
I was lucky, been waiting for years for a pass over my house, this one happened at 9pm and had a visible pass for half of it.
Still freaks me out seeing something moving through the view finder, even if I knew it was coming.
First time a satellite passed my field of view I nearly had a heart attack!

Three men are eating at a restaurant and order a $10 lunch meal

At the end of the meal they pay the waiter.

Waiter gives the money to his boss who says there is a special on at the moment, 3 meals for $25 and gives the waiter back $5

Waiter doesn't know how to split it for the men evenly, so figures he will pocket $2, and give the men back $1 each.

The three men paid $9 each = $27

Waiter pocketed $2

What happened to the other dollar?

Because math, that's what

#343223 Dyed Fish

Posted by werdna on 13 August 2015 - 01:49 PM

taken from thread here:

Your obligations as a sponsor

  • First and foremost, sponsorship is about supporting our club and our goals as a Cichlid Society
  • Premium sponsors are expected to donate at least $500 worth of products or vouchers (voucher option not applicable to sponsors outside the Perth metro area, unless you have online ordering facilities) over the course of 12 months
  • You are expected to provide a 10% discount to PCS Club Members on your retail prices

Dyed fish would be going against the goals of the Perth Cichlid Society

Buccal is on the money here, no point killing the dyed fish. Especially when the shop may not have realised what they have purchased.

Has the commitee contacted the sponsor about this yet?

The committee have no right to tell a sponsor how they run.

Sponsors have to support the club and its goals, not operate by them. There is a difference.

This has been brought up before when sponsors are selling Flowerhorns.

I agree the practice is terrible and should be banned, and as a club we can do everything we can to educate people about why you shouldn't buy those fish.

However we can't police how stores are run.

Ummm, ok, murder is illegal, but fudge it, there are 7b people on this planet. What difference is one less person in the scheme of things?

You want negativity taken elsewhere? Take your illegal recommendations elsewhere.

I have a pair of bobtails in my backyard.

Best pet ever!

They delivered themselves free, cost nothing to feed, seem to play well with my dog and scare the living crap out of door knockers :P

#341140 Recent Fishing

Posted by werdna on 01 July 2015 - 09:04 PM

That was on the bombies east of Carnac.

We had 4 good runs where the hooks didn't seat that night, that was the one that didn't get away.

There are heaps of Skippy around ATM too, we have been letting the Snapper rigs out then fishing for Skippy with squid rods. They put up a huge fight on those rods, some take a good 5 mins to get in. They are great fun while waiting for that lovely whirr from the overhead

Michael, buy your gear on ebay. It saves you HEAPS.

I use TACKLEDIRECT168 mainly (hope that works)

Everything arrives in a week and its cheap as.

I use 6/0 circle hooks for Snapper, a pack of 100 is $10 delivered.

Dhufish I use the 8/0 normally, they are 50 for $10

KG I use 1/0 circles, 100 for $10

Swivels are around $10 for 100 too.

We lost two rigs tonight, each one cost me around 30c for the two hooks and one swivel.

Don't know about lures though, we don't use them often
