Scientific Name: Cynotilapia afra 'cobue'
Pronunciation: Cy-no-til-ar-pea-a aff-rah cob-we
Trade Name(s): None
Distribution: Cobue
Habitat: Rocky areas down to 50mtrs
Diet: Aufwuchs, Zooplankton & phytoplankton
Sexing: Males have a purplish body with a yellow upper body, black barring & a light blue dorsal. They also a have black chin.
Females are not as well colored.
Maximum Size: 8cm
Temperature: 24 to 26c
pH: 7.5 to 9.0
Water Hardness: 300-400ppm
Availability: Fairly common in Oz.
Comments: One of the more popular Afra available in Australia, The males are stunning in breeding dress.
