Scientific Name: Copadichromis azureus

Pronunciation: Co-pad-e-chro-mis a-zoo-roo-us

Trade Name(s): Azureus, Haplochromis chrysonotus

Distribution: Mbenji Island, Nkhomo Reef

Habitat: Rocky & sandy areas

Diet: Invertebrates, plants, algae, fry & plankton

Sexing: Males are metallic blue.

Females are silver with 3 black dots in the body.

Maximum Size: 16cm, Females smaller

Temperature: 24 to 26c

pH: 7.5 to 9.0

Water Hardness: 300-400ppm

Availability: Available in Oz.

Comments: One of the best colored haps, But not a popular species for unknown reasons.
