Scientific Name: Copadichromis sp. 'fire-crest mloto'
Pronunciation: Co-pad-e-chro-mis species fire crest mm-lot-o
Trade Name(s): Fire Crest Mloto
Distribution: Gome
Habitat: Rocky & sandy areas
Diet: Plankton & invertebrates
Sexing: Males have a dark body with green & blue flecks through it. The dorsal has a stunning orange & white blaze through it.
Females are silver.
Maximum Size: 13cm
Temperature: 24 to 26c
pH: 7.5 to 9.0
Water Hardness: 300-400ppm
Availability: Rarely Available in Oz.
Comments: This Copad hasn't been seen in the wild since 1990. I was offered some a couple of years ago (2008-09) the retail price was $500 each @ 3cm.
