Scientific Name: Buccochromis rhoadesii
Pronunciation: Book-o-chro-mis road-dees-e-i
Trade Name(s): Rhoadesii
Distribution: Lake-wide distribution
Habitat: Sandy Habitat
Diet: Piscivore (Mainly fish)
Sexing: Males have a bluish head with a yellow body.
Females are silver with the juvenile band running form the top of the head to the caudal.
Maximum Size: 40cm
Temperature: 24 to 26c
pH: 7.5 to 9.0
Water Hardness: 300-400ppm
Availability: Available in Oz. This species is very hard to tell apart from Buccochromis nototaenia.
Buccochromis rhoadesii have a shallower body.
