What do little gray spots on a stingray mean? Is it ammonia burn?

Join a group called freshwater stingray enthusiasts on facebook, they may give a quicker answer. And upload pics

if pics were uploaded this would most certainly help. Typically if its what im thinking, its fine, they appear as little clumps that look like sand paper grit, very certain that's normal for a healthy ray is its just part of their skin.

Agreed with Androo, good page, but it gives you ray envy rather quickly :Rofl_3f:

What type of ray have you got?
