Hi I am looking to get some Neolamprologus similis In a new tank and just wondering some do's and don't's for this fish and any helpful tips(eg how big Tank, how many a tank, temp breeding etc) Also any one know where I can get any?

Exactly the same requirements as multies- here's a shot of my tank and this is the setup that works for me.

It's 2 foot by 18 inch run from a sponge filter. I feed once or twice a day with a pinch of flake or fine granule commercial food. I've put a massive amount of shells in there for the space of varying sizes. At the front the shells are two or three deep. I chucked a 9litre bucket of beach sand on top. Put a few rocks at the back and a much larger shell.

They move the shells and sand constantly and there's about 50 fry of varying sizes hiding amongst the shell bed. You can set it up differently as they are very adaptable but I think a bed of shells works best.

heaps but depends on the footprint. Get yourself a group of 10 or 15. They'll breed like flies and when it looks crowded pull half of them out to sell off and start again. They have bugger all bio-load so don't need to put massive amounts of filtration on it either
