A mate of mine.....sounds like a cliche'....Has recently set up a 4' tank.
On my advise he only stocked it with a few tretras after I explained the cycling process.
My question is after nearly 5 weeks he still has a slight cloudyness to his water.
We have checked the parameters which are
ph-7.0
nitrate-0ppm
nitrite-0ppm
amonia-1ppm
Could it be just taking a little longer than most as my tanks never have taken that long.
Also he seems to be having a build up of white like substance on the suction cups on his heater.
Something else I have never encountered.
Any advise at all is most welcomed.

Asian Planted Tank
18 June 2008 - 08:24 AM
Hey fellow fish keepers
Have decided to set up an Asian community planted tank and although I have a fair idea on what I will be doing, I was after some input as to the best way to go about it from those that have done this in the past.
Mainly ideas on: substrate
plant choices
fish
The tank is a 4'x18"x12" I have a 4 tube 112w t5 light.
Like I said I do have an idea but all input would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers Adrian

Coral Advise

Hey Folks
Just wondering if anyone has some advise on what corals I could safely keep in my 4'x12"x18" marine
i have t5 lighting at the moment with 2 x 28w 12000k white tubes and 2 x 28w actinic blue globes.
Can't afford any upgrades at the moment to metal hallide so any advise would be greatly appreciated.
