Easy mate, they volunteer their own time. Plus they’re probably Eagles supporters which means they’re half pickled right now.
Pretty awesome how they liked my post too.

#366617 Adhesive Film As A Background?

Posted by Westie on 27 September 2018 - 10:24 AM

I picked up a roll of PVC self adhesive film from Bunnings for $4.50 this morning. Went with "cork" as it was the closest thing to a plain colour I could find. Thinking about going red aquarium soil so the colour of easy to grow green aquarium plants will contrast well against the colour of the background and the substrate. Although it could just end up a plain white colour on the back of the adhesive stuff. Still better than no background, or one of those stick on backgrounds that get moisture in them.

this is the soil I'm considering going with

Pretty happy this plant is flowering again, even with all the chopping its copped in the past few months.

I went to Vebas on the weekend and saw they have the Madagascar Lace plant cheap cheap. One of them would look mint in your tank. Do it!

I’d leave it as is. Coffeefolia looks great in that tank.

#366411 August 7Th Meeting - Auction Night & A.g.m.

I picked up 6 lots. The albino b/n weren’t albino but I managed to pick up all the blockheads. Thanks to the people who donated their time and effort in to this event. Glad it doesn’t finish as late as auctions used to. Those tropheus and display sized Malawi cichlids went for an absolute steal!

#366243 Fs: Driftwood

Posted by Westie on 09 July 2018 - 03:17 PM

I have 2 bits of driftwood that were in a tank for a few years, but have been sitting on a shelf for a year or so now. Might as well move both bits on. Once they get waterlogged they shouldn't leach much tannins. I have take 2 photos of each bit of wood, and stubby holder is for reference so you get an idea on the size of the pieces.

Wood 1: SOLD

Wood 2:

I know that Morley Aquariums and Robs have steatocranus casuarius in stock. Well, they did a week or so back.
Let me know if you have any luck sourcing steatocranus tinanti in WA
