3100L/h

9 Watt UV Built in (or not - you can choose)

~20 Litre filter capacity in 4 baskets

3 out of 4 baskets filled with media already

for more info - click HERE for 'with UV' or HERE for 'without UV'

Made by the makers of the ASTRO Canister Filters - Robust and Reliable....

(not related to any other "Who-Flung-Dung" Brand of Chinese Filter.... it is the largest unit in a new range we are currently testing out to replace or merge with Astro Filters....)

Got any questions? - PM Mr_Docfish or Aquotix

Those filters would be great for tank busters or heavily stocked cichlid tanks

Be a shame to replace the astro filters they are a great unit. Merged would be awesome :)

Interesting. Wouldn't it be more efficient to have the UV part *after* the water has run through the media instead of before?

What size hose does it take? Same as CF 2400 or smaller like the Eheims?

It is better before so bacteria in the filter can consume the dead bits like algae.
Ill get some time this week to put up more detail about what comes with it... It has only just come in, we have to find a tank to put it on....

I'm considering throwing one on my 400L Archerfish and Rainbow tank. Me thinks it's overkill but I haven't ruled it out yet.

Not a fan of all in one filters, i prefer the heater and UV separate in case of break downs. Although it probably has advantages in certain circumstances.

its good if you dont wanna run your UV and heaters in the tank since it can spoil the view and you dont wanna run inline versions

Are inline heaters as efficient as the heater being in the tank? I just have this idea that the heater in the canister will be on for longer, constantly heating the passing cold water.

But then again I guess that also comes down to the fact that the whole tank would be uniformly heated, as compared to having hot and cold spots.

Sounds interesting. Will definitely keep an eye out for updates :)

Chaderotti, I ran a Hydor on my 9x2 and kept the temp at 29 degrees. Worked well and maintained the heat no problem. However, our house never got that cold so it didn't have to work too hard.

i guess the inline and built in heaters may not have to work as hard tho, its a smaller area of water to be heated at once so its quicker and easier to get upto temperature., where as a standard tank heater has to heat a larger surface area to warm more water at once to keep the entire tank warm and relies heavily on the flow of water to spread the heat evenly, the others the cannister helps to keep the temps even. i rarely see my thermofilter or hydor inline turn on during winter.

25mm hose and fittings - big enough to get around the strips on top of tanks with 10mm or 12mm glass.
