Hi all,

It's on again, December is going to be the PCS auction (7th of December) and in preparation I would like to start taking bookings for lots.

Venue & time info info here (click)

PM me or post here and make sure to include the following:
Name - common and scientific, size, number, sex where possible and a reserve if wanted.

* Doors will open at 7pm or earlier, please come early with lots so they can be processed before 8pm.
* Lots (selling) are only open to Club Members but you can become one on the night. Anyone can bid / buy. General Public are welcome to attend.
* If you have a picture of the actual fish you would like to use for the slide, send it to me with the lot details and I'll have it up when your lot is up for auction.
* Lots will be accepted on the night but would prefer to have them pre-booked before hand so everything runs smoother.
* There is a limit of lots that are brought and booked in on the night which is now 5 per person, hence pre-bookings are encouraged. There is no limit on the number of lots that are pre-booked.
* Fish bagged incorrectly will not be accepted. No sandwich bags or ziplock bags allowed. There will be a $1 charge for the re-bagging of fish

Please familiarize yourself with the full Auction by-laws here - CLICK ME

If you have any queries feel free to ( pm me ) or any of the Committee Members.

Cheers
Brad.

Auction list ....will be updated as lots are received.
PLS NOTE THAT PICS ARE NOT OF ACTUAL FISH THAT WILL BE AT AUCTION.

With the success of the last auction I am hoping that it will encourage people to bring fish for sale. The last auction showed that there is the ability for buyers to get bargains, while still showing the breeders/sellers the respect for breeding and growing these fish. Most of the fish offered at the last auction went for at least wholesale prices. This both gives the buyer a bargain and makes it worthwhile for the seller to take their fish to the event.

Hope to see you all there. biggrin.gif

Cmon guys / gals! surely we can find one or two items we nolonger need per person. Even 1/2 a container of gold fish food, all adds up biggrin.gif

I'm going to have a rummage through the shed now.

I think from memory we have had things like almost full buckets of sera flora etc. As long as the buyer can check it beforehand I think it should be ok.

At one of the Auctions, there was a 3/4 full container of food put up and it was knocked back by Col. I totally agree, Not saying it would BUT...... its a possibility that someone might do something "not cool" and then the new owner would suffer for it.
Its not nice to think that someone might to it, but it could happen, better to be safe then sorry!

Agree 100% and the by-laws should be amended if it's not in there already

Actually, this should apply to any consumable that has been purchased where the packaging seal has been broken i.e. medications and water treatments. They can be sold on the forum classifieds but at the auction most of the time the seller isn't known to the buyer. If something does go wrong the buyer can only come back to the committee and it would be close to impossible for us to do anything about it as we couldn't prove if the problem occurred because of the product purchased or because of something else that the buyer doesn't realise or won't admit to.

I can't remember any lots being opened consumable containers at any auction except the food that Col withdrew, so it's kind of like an unwritten rule at the moment anyway.

Today will be the last day for pre-booking lots for the auction.
If you still have any lots left to book in then pls do so by the end of the day.
Lots can still be entered on the night.

Do you think there should be a limit to how many of the same species are taken?

Currently there are no restrictions of how many lots (be it the same items or diff) can be pre-booked into the auction.
In the past we have had some people book in 8 - 10 lots of wood or 20 - 30 magazines.
Due to the lower numbers of lots booked in in the past 4 or so auctions we have been happy to take what lots we can get.
If the lots get sold then i personally don't have a problem if people want to book in numerous lots of the same thing .... if we were to start seeing the lots getting withdrawn due to there being to many of the same thing up for grabs then perhaps we could start looking at placing limits on things.

Not all the lots of the same thing necessarily come from the same person either (not saying that this is the case this time) so if ten diff peeps all booked in 3 lots of yellows then we would still have 30 lots of yellows and it's a bit unfair to tell some one they cant bring there yellows because we have to many lots of them already.

Saying that i do see what you are saying and will bring it up at the next cm for discussion.

On a lighter note Az 8 x 4 is 32 .....not 28 hehe tongue.gif
