There are a few auction rules that all members need to be aware of:

  • All lots will be inspected on the night and any lots with deformed, unidentifiable or undersized fish will be removed.
  • All lots will  have the seller's forum name listed on the bag.
  • Fish bagged incorrectly will not be accepted. No sandwich bags or ziplock bags allowed.
  • Please make sure your fish are adequately bagged. If they are large fish, put each in a separate bag.
  • When booking lots, please use reserve prices sparingly  for the expensive stuff. No reserves will be accepted below $20
  • When bidding on the night please remember that collection and payment of lots will only take place at the end of the auction.
  • There are no EFT facilities, so all transactions must be settled with cash on the night.
  • At the end of the auction your lots will be collected and given to you by a committee member.
  • Only club members can sell lots at the auction but you can become one on the night. Anyone can bid/buy. General public are welcome to attend.
  • The PCS takes a 10% commission on all sales at the auction.
  • Non PCS club members pay an additional 10% of total sale price per lot.
  • The Rotary Hall is not a licensed venue and alcohol is not permitted. Anyone drinking in the hall will be asked to leave.
  • There are limited lots in the auction and fish take priority. The committee has discretion in refusing lots and reserves in the interests of balance and pacing

Hi,

I haven't been to an Auction before and just wandering if we are allowed to ask more about a particular fish that would be for sale?

For example, I would like to know who is putting the following fish up for auction and if they have some pics of the parents??

- 5x aulonocara stuartgranti 'chipoka orange' MM FFF 5-7cm

- 4x Aulonocara maulana 4cm

Thanks,

Spiesie

good questions and thanks for asking :)

Sellers are typically labelled on the lot unless they request not to be. We can grant the request but sellers need to bear in mind this will pose questions in the minds of potential buyers.

For each auction I try to get a powerpoint prepared of each lot and provide an example of a specimen of that lot. I typically just rip an image from the net somewhere but I can use photos of actual stock or parentage of people want to send them to me prior to me doing the spreadsheet. It's in the sellers court but we can certainly accommodate your request if we get the images in time.

cheers,

Great, thanks for the reply. I have also already been contacted by one of the sellers ^_^

Good to know that there is a powerpoint with images and seller information. Helps a lot with rookies like myself

Also, the names that you put on the lot, is it the PCS username or their actual name?

Cheers,
