I would prefer to try a pair of nice festae. Really nice fish, dont see many around either. Might be a bit of a market for some fry. Though it seems like Americans might not be the height of fashion any more.

Yeh ok do you know where I might be able to get some?? Does that mean Africans are more popular???

Africans are always more popular. Americans are big and angry need a lot of tanks and big tanks at that.
Americans have been pretty popular over the last year or so but it seems (to me at least... might not actually be the case) that some enthusiasm for keeping americans has waned a bit.
There was a genuine pair at City Barn, I imagine they have been sold though. Put up a wtb in classifieds and on gumtree and give the clubs sponsors a call, see what comes up.

N. haitensis has apparently been imported... less questions on that, the better if true. I havent seen them around FS though.
N. grammodes... dunno, pretty sure they aren't here.

Sorry not real helpful.

Oh ok thanks just read they're very prone to bloat. Must be why there's so little of them and they'll probably die while being shipped anyway if they're prone to bloat...

Narrowed it down to dovii and Umbee still can't decide though. Which one is meaner and has a better personality??
