Just redid my tank and happy with the result. New light, seiryu rocks and a new background. Keeping a colony of juvenile tropheus ilangi and 4 wild caught eretmodus bluespot which are breeding for me, can't wait for the trophs to colour up.

I like the layout of this tank. I've only seen seiryu stone in fancy planted aquascapes, not on a tang tank. Looks good though

Plus one - I like how the rocks match in with the background. What size is the tank?

Yeah it's crushed coral. To be totally honest i've never checked levels. I use a bit of seachem tang buffer and water change often and all the tropheus i've kept have been happy and healthy so haven't bothered. Used to be more vigilant back in the day when i bred milawis but now i don't bother as long as fish are behaving like they should

Tanks just a four foot, will prob upgrade to a 6x2x2 when the ilangi get bigger. Seiryu a tad pricey for what I'm using it for but going to let the eretmodus spit their first couple of mouthfulls in tank and hoping some of the fry can hide in the grooves. Having some babies in the tank keeps my girlfriend entertained. After that i'll start pulling them out and growing them up for trades
