We have to make do with fish that are already in Australia or ones that make it here some other way.
Either way its good when people dedicate there time ,effort and dollars to trying to spawn the not so common varieties. Same goes for all fish.

Which one is on the import list?
I found this list of permissible imports to Tasmania - http://m.ifs.tas.gov...ed-imports-list which includes the following genus categorised as "Armored catfishes (L numbers)"
Hypancistrus
Panaque
Peckoltia
Pseudacanthicus
Pterygoplichthys
Rineloricaria
I'm pretty new to L numbers, but I'd be keen to build up a collection as the years go by. I anticipated it being a little expensive, but didn't realize it was due to biosecurity restrictions

L168-Dekeyseria brachyura
Is the only allowable import of all L numbers to Australia.
Damn shame too.

That sucks if so. Looking deeper into it - https://www.google.c...chrome&ie=UTF-8
It appears to be an Aug 2012 list. Not sure if it has been revised, or if Tasmania is more lenient than the mainland.
L168 is the only L number to be singled out on that list, whereas the others are grouped by genus.
Found another list - http://www.environme...import-list.pdf
Not a very friendly list...
This one is for Tassie, as of 15th of April 2013 - http://www.ifs.tas.g...uarium-industry still allowing those mentioned before (looks like the same list?)
