Sunday 28th of September 2014 (Day15)

Glosso has made a lot of progress over the week. Ludwigia Inclinata has been the most impressive of the background plants. Pogostemon Stellatus and Ludwigia Arcuata have grown quite slowly. All the wood is slowing down on the amount of white mucus it is releasing, hopefully in a couple of weeks there will be no more of this.

Tank looks stunning Kane! The apisto female looks like she is ready to spawn. The Glosso carpet is going very well:

Cheers!!

Which ones are you looking at?

Blyxa Japonica, Staurogyne Tropica, Ludwigia Inclinate Var...,  has come from members on here
Glossostigma Elatinoides originally came from Perth Display Centre, all of the glosso came from the previous tank. Pogostemon and Luwigia Arcuata also did.
Lilaeopsis Brasiliensis from Gosnells

Lets just say Staurogyne Sp. Purple and Rotala 'H'ra' came from a couple of cuttings that I managed to get my hands on.

This is why I started to collect plants and have them on offer, until Perth Aquarium and Display Centre gets their Quarantine up and running, or more so get the approval from the Government. I get so jealous of other States/Countries that have so many plants on offer to them.

Will update on Saturday, but I did give the glosso a massive trim to try and promote lower growth. Also over came a break out of thread algae caused by my filter jamming and being off for 4 or so days.

bg?

Updates will be made with photos tomorrow. Been flat out at work so have barely had time to look after the tanks, spent the whole day doing maintenance (just finished trimming back the over grown 6footer).

Ok, so I will pull my finger out and put some new photos up soon. As for a background, not too sure. I am not a huge fan of backgrounds, but if I came across a nice 90cm x 45cm piece I would probably look to adding it, but first I want to remove as much equipment from the tank as possible. I am probably going to upgrade my shit 800lph canister filter for something in the 1400lph - 2000lph range, then I can get rid of the wave maker and once the tank has aged same with the blue planet 9w uv. Also the heater shall be coming out once I can be guaranteed the water temperature will stay above 22 degrees.

Good plan... I dont much like backgrounds myself, black painted back panels appeal to me more than any other option.
