Nothing much - noticed drop checker on tank bottom last week and fixed. Obviously liked it there as again on bottom and has been joined by the temperature gauge (late winter breeding pattern???). Can’t be bothered removing lights and covers to get so will sit there until next weekend.

Plants are in (only fell in tank once ). Still cloudy, canister filter back on and see how it goes. Only seem to have lost one tiger barb - jumped out sigh.

Lotus has lost two leaves (snapped stem I think) - hoping it settles in. Not sure on spot now but not game to shift it.

Lotus plant looking more happy. Reading lots of online text where it takes over a tank - hoping this one can have a root system under Anubias / front of tank and the leaves should be good shade / contrast.

First flower from aponogeton - bit shaky but looks established.

Lotus lost all the long leaves but looks to be going ok near ground level. Be awhile before I have to worry on pruning it :)

Water change and some plant cleanup. GSA came off the glass readily so hopefully stays away!

Nitrates at 20ppm (maybe 40ppm) and phosphate at 1pmm or bit less. Not overdosing anyways luckily.

Um’ed on getting 5gal tank out but left for another week. Finish some house projects first but cherry shrimp would be tempting!

Maybe there is something to the seachem advance. The Anubias nana is riddled with BBA but seems to have a flower stem as well.

I don’t know what to do with it. Dosing glut and growing bolbitis over it to shade it but the BBA is in the roots on the driftwood, etc. I’ll give it to November auction I guess.

Bolbitis damage I reckon from the furan 2 (maybe). Be in about the right spot. Should bounce back - failed to kill it for several years now :)

Came across a note not to use furan2 with live plants sigh. The bolbitis continues to decline. Think I’ll buy some more plants this weekend. I’m still hoping some will bounce back. From memory last time the plants just stopped growing and gradually withered away.

Latest tank photo this morning with the seachem flourite black added and bolbitis fern cleaned back. Added more crypts and stem plants.

I think my lighting is a bit less but will see how the red stem plants go. Bolbitis may have a new shoot - watched very closely!! The H2O2 cleaned off some BBA off anubias - mostly shifted to middle of tank to hide it as didn’t have the heart to throw it out.

My moss covered green rocks turned up in post (impulse buy while looking for retaining wall blocks as you do). Look great, very realistic - soaking in bathroom tub where they are also excellently floating sigh...

Water change, clean internal filter, H2O2 algae treatment and shift an Anubias under shade hopefully then a crypt to where Anubias was. Clean up stem plants - I like these ones but so does the algae. I think that’s the most maintenance in several months. Some sort of time warp happened though as several hours have vanished :)

I think there has been some growth. Life would be complete if the algae would go away :) hopefully the H2O2 treatment works as it was fizzing merrily away on the algae.

Also like the tank much better with the backing on.

Long shot of tank (no more tiger barbs for me, too much little trouble-makers).

Shrimp tank led arrived (cables everywhere now!). Just have to wait to next auction to get more shrimp and guppies.

Nitrates reading of 20 (JBL 25) and TDS 300 (found meter at back of cupboard). Phosphate 1pmm.

Lots of expired test kits - some as far back as 2017 :) Found a ph pen so might try that later.

Sword plant has another leaf just starting so will see how long it takes to get up two and a half feet. Last one seemed to do nothing and then it was there.
