Woke up this morning to find an old rusted out fishing hook in my fish tank, appears one of my snakehead gudgeons has thrown it up over night. First time I've seen this. Pretty cool hey?

Wow that is.
Could they possibly be catching them like this, they are hard to come buy.

Haha.

If I was sleep fishing I would have landed that sucker, no dropped fish here.

I should add that the fish was healthy and thriving before and after the hook was regurgitated. Shows that not all gut hooked fish are goners.

Yeah I was always under the impression they just decintergrate very fast without effecting the fish much,,, it's a highly corrosive situation.

My male gudgeon is still going strong, the female didn't fare so well. The bass didn't like her much and that was the end of her. Male is a stunner though and has been accepted into Bass society (not easy).

Anyone else still keeping these?

Very placid fish

ive got mine in with a small saratoga and some mouth almightys - he was holding his own with the saratoga but now prefers to get out of its way hahhaa

Definitely not an aggressive fish - even at feeding time mine kind of hangs back and waits for everything else to finish eating before he gets his

Yeah super passive.

Mine has a rougher time dealing with 30cm + Peacock Bass. Seems to have found his place now.

i had planned to put mine with my bass but after hearing about your experience i put him elsewhere - think he will fit in with the MA's and maybe some rainbows down the track when i take the predators out of the tank
