Aquarium Background

Currently, I have a plain blue laminated background, applied using vaseline. I'm getting heaps of bubbles in there, so i want to get rid of it.
Now the kicker is I only have around 200mm clearance behind the tank.
I really liked the look of the laminated background with vaseline, but the bubbles are doing my head in.
Maybe painting the background is the go?
Cheers

Painting is pretty easy; A $5 roller some cheap black paint and you're away. If you change your mind later, the paint will come off with a bit of effort using a razor thingy.

do you still get some light reflecting through, or did you velcro up all 4 edges? That may work with black velcro and material.
malawi, can i use any paint?
Cheers.

See the link below... pretty much answers the question of which paint. http://www.perthcich...=55991&hl=paint
But wait, theres more!
There was another thread not so long ago about alternatives to painting the background: http://www.perthcich...=53397&hl=paint
Hope that helps.

no mate they will be ok. If you have air going into the water id turn it off while painting but thats it. Just dont get paint in the water and you will be fine.
Me?
Whoever... I was just hijacking the thread.
