My moss covered green rocks turned up in post (impulse buy while looking for retaining wall blocks as you do). Look great, very realistic - soaking in bathroom tub where they are also excellently floating sigh...

Latest tank photo this morning with the seachem flourite black added and bolbitis fern cleaned back. Added more crypts and stem plants.

I think my lighting is a bit less but will see how the red stem plants go. Bolbitis may have a new shoot - watched very closely!! The H2O2 cleaned off some BBA off anubias - mostly shifted to middle of tank to hide it as didn’t have the heart to throw it out.

Came across a note not to use furan2 with live plants sigh. The bolbitis continues to decline. Think I’ll buy some more plants this weekend. I’m still hoping some will bounce back. From memory last time the plants just stopped growing and gradually withered away.

In Topic: Stubborn Catfish More Likely To Die From Tapwater Changes ?

20 November 2019 - 09:37 AM

I fill tank from tap directly and I usually over-dose seachem safe. I’ve been told the reaction with tap water is pretty much instant although can see the point of aged water as it settles in ph, etc.

One I’ve found useful is I run two heaters and tank comes back on straight after water change. Seems to have less issues.

Could be something if happens more in winter or spring maybe. Be interesting if a seasonal pattern to catfish loss?

You would think something smarter could be done. Lots of different groups pulling in different directions perhaps?!

I wonder if they do zones of fire breaks. Standard 3m wide along fence lines can be easily jumped by a fire.
