You assumed wrong, a lot of the Malawi cichlids will cross. If your unsure of the source, then presume there crosses.

The way i see some people treat tanks is  :brickwall: . If it was not broken when purchased, then i don't see how the seller was at fault. Glass is very unforgiving so treat it with respect, always lay it down flat with some protective packing underneath.
