I'm heading down to Bunbury soon for a couple days, where I heard a remnant population of Galaxiella nigrostriata occurs, and I thought I might check it out. I read that they reside in Kemerton Nature Reserve, anyone ever been there? Got any tips for catching them? Important to note that, as much as I wish I could, I won't be taking home any fish home.

Without sounding negative I have to ask. Why bother catching, stressing and possibly injuring such a small sensitive near threatened native fish? Jump in the water and have a snorkel with them instead or watch them from the bank? I always get a far greater sense of satisfaction watching them interact naturally and knowing that I haven't disturbed anything other than perhaps a bit of silt on the bottom.

That wasn't my intention mate, going and finding things that interest you and interacting with nature is bloody great and if it were pygmy perch or regular old galaxias then I wouldn't bat an eyelid. I reckon you should still go and have a look and see if you can locate a colony of them, just don't go pulling them out of the water just for a look :)
