Any chippies on this group? or anyone who has made pine stand for tanks, after some knowledge on some do's and dont's

Not a chippy but I've done a few 2 tier 4 foot stands and worked construction my whole working life so I'm better than handy.
Make sure you get straight timber. Particularly for the length of the tank.
Make sure everything is square, plumb and level.
Best practice is to make sure that weight bearing horizontal and transversal timbers are sitting on verticals. Nothing can fail that way.
I'm not a fan of drawing before I start building but it would probably be a swell idea if you aren't terribly experienced.
From memory I think I used 70x35s.

Build it so that the weight is pushing it together and transferring it down into the ground, not pulling it apart.

How did you go mate? , cabinetmaker by trade and planning on getting a new 5x2 soon and making my own stand and cabinet. From the date of your post i gather that you have started if not finished, happy to help with advice if needed
