i dont know where the land is, if it was your own then it should be fine.
if not then you will need a license and you will need to check wether you can fish there. also you can only you specific nets, best to check it out with your local fisheries, orr fork out $5 and get a couple and breed your own.
orrr go down at night with a torch and a net and your ninja skills;)
cheers jess.
ps. $5 for a couple or $25 for the license and $10 for the net and $2? for bait and a nights worth of time.
pss. you also need to check wether its season.

There is no season for yabbies. They are actually an introduced species, a pest if you will. There's no bag limit, no season and its actually illegal to release one into a natural waterway. Fisheries want you to catch as many as you can smile.gif

The only thing you have to worry about is a) taking what you think is a yabbie and turns out its a marron or other small native crayfish or b ) trespassing and fishing someone's private dam.

Here's some info on identifying yabbies direct from Fisheries WA;

marron are normally darker in colour which long slim claws and a slim body, yabbies have a bulier body a bluer colour and fat claws.
