The shrimp are super cool, they are both natives too! I have some video footage that I'll compile and put up when I have time.

The gobies and shrimp have arrived!
Mexican standoff between Nigel and the new kids on the block
The Darwin Red Nosed shrimp settling in nicely too
Fabio doesn't escape the shrimp treatment either, with a dozen Darwin Algae shrimp going into the nano
Looking good so far

Meet Fabio, he's going in my 30l tank. Nigel has moved into his bigger digs in this tank with his loach buddies, will grab some decent pics tonight.

So my original plant plan isn't going to happen, even the natives are going to get pureed across the border it appears! That should have been fine, but no time to plan a new layout as my betta arrive today apparently! A quick trip down to Aquotix to scrounge for plants and a few bits and pieces to split my CO2 into the new tank.
Here's what I came back with:
A pot of Lilaeopsis brasiliensis (Brazilian micro sword)
A nice Echinodorus horizontalis (Horizontalis sword)
Hygrophila corymbosa (Narrow leaf giant hygro)
Hairgrass (want dwarf but that will have to wait)
Narrow leaf val
More blyxa japonica as well
and picking up some hydrocotyle sp japan (pennywort) today
So here's the mess today. Not happy with the layout but got the plants in and will decide on an arrangement over the new few days (ideas welcome). Planning to pick up some pebbles to decorate and make hidey holes for the gobies arriving next week.

I predict some stockings will be disappearing out of drawers soon lol
Put my order in for stock for this tank plus two 30l tanks:
6 x Finke Gobies going into this tank
15 x Darwin Red-nose shrimp
10 x Chameleon shrimp
Nymphaea nouchali as a feature plant
Hairgrass for the background
Pogostemon stellatus
Vallisneria nana
Pennywort for the foreground
Plus my new dumbo betta breeding pair and some red MTW

This is my second planted tank, hopefully it will turn out nicer than the first one. This is a 60l tank that will be for a betta and hopefully some MTW. The driftwood is the star in the tank, and I have a rough plan as to how to complement it with plants but no plants just yet. Will be moderately planted with CO2 injection. So without further ado;
Saw this piece of driftwood and had to have it. It's been soaking a couple of weeks. I'd leave it a couple more weeks but I just bought a new betta pair and need some tank space!

Always a bonus not having to beg borrow or steal stockings if you have your own. Leftover gravel from a cheap tank buy.

Now to let the tank settle and cough up for some plants

Hi, I joined because I met a few members now and you all seem pretty nice people and great to talk to! I live up in the hills and only have one nano tank with a betta, just picked up another one though. I'm relatively new to planted tanks but really enjoying how beautiful they are. Hopefully I'll learn a little more here and maybe avoid the worst mistakes.
My tank is 28 litres and is home to Nigel and three kuhli loaches - Chip, Dale and Alvin
