Well to tell you the truth i had them in 3 litres of water for aprox 4 hours (with an airstone)while i was changing my tank around so maybe the large water change triggered it but i have fed them lots of algue wafers and zuchini biggrin.gif

Nice work Skittles - breeding is a success at every level and dont think common BNs are any less important. In fact you have bred one of the most sought after fish.

I slice it up and freeze it. When you add it to the tank it sinks when it defrosts- makes it real easy.

BTW, Onya Skittles exiting isn't it? biggrin.gif

Throw it in frozen and it floats for a few minutes, then sinks.
The benefit is you can buy a whole zuc (or pumpkin or whatever) and keep it frozen until you need it with no loss of vitamins as you may with cooking.

ive been told to boil it for a few minutes to soften it up so its easier for them to eat it... my albinos sometimes swim to the top of the tank to eat the floating zucchini, sometimes they even pull it down to the bottom to feed...
great tip tho... i'll give it a try
