I'm no sure this is under the right forum - so apologies if it's not!

I've started a small planted tank (28 L) using the dry start method. It currently contains Eleocharis parrulus (hair grass) and Hemianthus callitrichoides (HC, or dwarf baby tears) and after adding water I am also going to add Ceratopteris thalicroides.

My question is regarding CO2, and whether I need it. I realise the advantages, but for a 28 L tank it seems a bit of an over kill.

So will a liquid form, such as Seachem Flourish Excel be sufficient? Or are there other brands that work better?

Thanks in advance!

I don't know the answer, but you can get small CO2 kits for nano tanks.

what lighting and substrate will you be using?
if going for fert a daily dose works better than weekly dosing

Thanks Anka - that looks great! Do you happen to know if the disposable tanks can be refilled? And how long an 88g cartridge would roughly last?

As for what light and substrate

Layer of Miracle Grow - Organic Potting mix, then a layer of silica sand. I also have grey gravel used for landscaping.

Light is a 2.5 W LED - is that sufficient? This is my first planted tank, so I'm still learning!

I don't believe the disposable tanks can be refilled. I think they are relatively cheap to replace. Aquotix sell them if you want to pop in and have a chat to the staff about it.
