Ive bought plants from lilly farm and the soil they were growing in looks like it has fertilizer in it, would it be safe to still use or?

Depends what fertiliser it is I suppose. I have done the same thing with Bunnings plants with no dramas though.
As a matter of interest, what plants did you get?

I used Lilaeopsis brasiliensis from Bunnings with no luck but my lights sucked. Would be keen to give it another go sometime. Way cheaper than buying from LFS...
Ive got an absolute ton of Bacopa monnieri im messing around with at the moment. Nice plant when its planted densely.

I didnt have it planted deep enough I dont reckon so if I tried it again I would break it up smaller and take better care planting it.
Ive only got the monnieri growing at the moment. Going to try my luck with some glosso in the next few weeks. Im no green thumb so I dont hold any great hope.
