You mean food wise? I use brine to fatten up the females then do a water change and usually that kick starts them

Just seeing if there are any patterns or regular ideas people are using. Food, water conditions , changes to lighting times.
I use to like to simulate the weather patterns of dry season to wet by increasing temp slightly adding more time to lights on and letting water conditions worsen a bit then do a large water change to simulate the rains coming

When I bred Benthochromis, I used to put live baby brine shrimp in the tank to get the females in the mood.  They were more eager to spawn when they knew there was food available for their fry.
