thanks for your input this has really helped. Yes i do wash them under tap water but i have always done this. I think the issue was caused by a mixture of doing such a large water change and cleaning out both filters in tap water.

I am looking at getting the external filter and will also now only do 25% water change evvery two weeks or so!!

Yes, i used water conditioner.. do you think i could have used too much?

when i did the first water change on friday i changed over 50%.

i have one large filter and one medium size filter. This is what thye look like:

brand is Eheim.

Not sure what the ready was..and i have used ammo lock yesterday.

i have the fish set up in another tank however it was way too small for them so i need to get them out asap they are still not very healthy looking.

Im wondering if my tank was overstocked..

Should i empty out the whole tank, switch the gravel to sand and start again?
