Here is a few photos of my Protomelas sp hertae I bought from an aquotix when they did an order from east, just starting to colour as well.  The Callochromis I bought from Robs I'm really not sure how long ago but they have been pumping out the babies.

Cheers guys, they still have a little while before I will be able to breed them, but looking forward to it when they do.

Nice shots!!  Thanks for sharing!

The hertae are a gorgeous species. I sort of took them on when I had a spare tank and there wasn't much of interest on offer at the time.  I'm sooooo glad I did!!!  Photos of adult males keep popping up on the overseas groups, and to a tee, they are fish that make you stop and look.

I've found them to be very peaceful.  Until recently I had 3 males in my adult group, and they co-existed very happily (I just parted with a male to help someone else make up a viable colony).  Only the dom male is fully coloured, but the sub-dom males look good too.  There isn't any real angst in the group even when they are spawning.

Another of those less-aggressive, medium sized haps that have a lot to offer the hobby!!!

Quick phone pic update of the dominant/most colourful male Protomelas sp hertae.  Will get the DSLR out when I'm home during the day and not as busy.

Okay so here are some more photos of the fish all grown up and looking good.  They have spawned a few times but either the females swallowed the eggs or I was not quick enough to save the fry.  I will keep trying.  Oh and another shot of the Callochromis.

You could say that, this is the dominant male and he was halfway between trying to spawn and trying to keep everyone else at bay.
