Try to get a pic when the fish is in full light. It looks like there's a hint of purple in some of those pics but may just be the camera playing funny buggers.

Ill try and get a better picture today...
Also i have heard these are very agressive wont it be bad if he/she start attacking others. Acording to my mates it attacked and killed the last fish that was put in there...
Also why is it digging holes in the flooring i have for it... it keeps moving all the pebbles around and making a hole...
Current tank
300mm x 200mm x 230mm
has a heater set to 28Degrees C
Has a filter no idea what it really does...
Good little setup

he's certainly a funny looking fella! haha, your tank will only be able to house the one fish, unless you upgrade, if you buy a 3 foot setup from this forum, i'm sure the seller will give you advice on setting it up etc. and then you can add him to the tank, and get him some buddies! the reason why he killed his last tank mate was because, he sounds like he has an agro nature, but in a bigger tank (3ft) by adding alot more fish, even overstocking, shares out agression making sure he doesn't focus on the one fish, and harrass it to death...

Check out Neolamprologus multifasciatus or some of the other dwarf species. You'll be able to keep a small colony in that tank. They're not super colourful but have heaps of personality and would be a great intro to cichlids for you.

Hey mate welcome to the forum. Multis like a good quality flake like sera flora or a pellet like new life spectrum cichlid fomula is even better. they are a cool ittle fish and if you set the tank up right they can be very rewarding. SOme of the sponsor stores will have them in stock I am pretty sure midland pets have some in at the moment. They will set you back about $15 each

might just keep my little fella for a while and see how he goes...
He is such an energetic fella!!
Great personality too, he plays with your finger when u stick it in and now he races up and down the tank through all the plant branches... good to watch and learn.

That is pretty cheap compared to other fish out there mate. Some members have paid $250 for one fish and bought 16 at a time just to have 4 die straight away. In time if you stick with the hobby you will see that the ones you really want to keep are the expensive ones.
