I Like To Loach

This is my 300cmx75cmx75cm future loach home.
3 weeks ago it was a reef tank, but after 9+ years of reef keeping I've had enough.
There is still a lot of tanins being released from the wood and dust from the river sand but that should clear in a few weeks.
My stocking plan is to focus on clown loaches, hoping to get around 30 or so over time. There is 40 Glolight danio's in there somewhere already for dither fish, and a few weeks a few L333's would be choice. I'd really like to get a couple of pairs of german blue rams in there too (standard ones, not balloon or neon blue freaks ).
Lighting is 100% natural, although the skylights need a few repairs and they are not as bright as they used to be.
Filtration is an old 6x2x2 in the room behind as a sump, filled with various biomedia, heaters, filtermatting etc.
When the water clears I'll post some decent shots
Enjoy

I found the tree stumps in a soon-to-be-developed-into-tiny-houses strip of bushland about 300m from my house. A few trees had been felled for a fire break, I was lucky enough to stumble upon them, and have a 2 seater stroller handy to carry them back with. The kids had to walk back
The stick bits are from around the mouth of the Harvey river, between the highway and the ocean. Some lovely bits there if you are brave enough to face the rotten stinky sinking mud.

Nice score!
Is that dead coraline algae in the back right corner?

It seems to have fused with the glass, so I'm giving it a scrape every other day as it gets softer after dieing. I started with vinegar soaked newspaper over it when the tank was empty, but its too thick.

The old wood place is gone. A few weeks after this it was levelled and cleared, now its subdivided and ready for housing I'll try to get more pics up this week.
