Hey guys and girls
We just moved here from Brisbane for my job and we had to sell
Our tanks and fish at short notice back in QLD becouse we had no
Family etc to look after them etc etc
We did own two 4x2x2 displays with a wild caught Oscar in each
and a smaller 3x2x2 with a few L's also a bit of a small time guppy
Breeding set-up to keep up with the food demand lol
Anyways we have been here a few months now and are all sorted
and setup so I have a plywood tank I'm building at the moment which will be 6x3.5x2.6
and have a smaller display setup a 2.5x1.5x1.5
2.5 being the height so whould suit sea horses really but I have big plans for a planted setup
Or sum thing like that not sure just got it cycling at the moment no rush to get fish
been there done that lol
Anyways nice to say hello sure we will all meet along the road sum where
Hey Fish Heads

Yeah the oscars I got were a one off through a mate at a fish wholesaler in Queensland I got two of the 10 they brought in apparently they are able to be imported but don't travel well the two I got were only a few cm long and wernt in good shape but I got them healthy and they grew heaps fast but couldn't be with any other fish I had them together to start but once they got to know the tank one neally killed the orther but then got them sorted with big tanks each

G'day crazyD,
Welcome. How long have you had the wild Oscars?
We had some on the site through Tucunare(Sponsor) a few years back, 2008 I guess.
Nice fish.
cheers

Don't have them any more had to up lift and move from Brisbane for work at about a weeks notice so had to sell them off for a cheap price to considering they were full size and at least a foot long when I caught them for the buyer and they were only 12 months old still to grow a bit I think but yeah amazing fish but didn't like tank mates so had to be by themselves.
Havnt seen any this side off the country but if you can find any with little orange apart from the eye onthe tail and are dark black or dark green your on to a more pure strain

Sorry, yes.....How long did you own.....
May I suggest starting a thread in cichlid discussion on the Wild Oscar, I'd be interested to see how the 2008 ones went, maybe we'll get some info, and I'd like to hear/see more of your Oscars.
cheers
