(Terry)
Mine are like the ones marked "not the real fish"
I would like to know if the ones you have are the same species as mine.
Have they turned red yet?

Cheers Terry

I think it's an age difference. These guys are still young, the orange is a bit paler. They should colour up lots more.

Hey guys,
What are you all feeding your whiptails? I have tried giving them algae discs and zucchini but they aren't into it. Any ideas?
Cheers
Dave

You could also try frozen baby peas. Nuke 'em for a minute in half a cup of water, pop the two halves out of the shiny skin and pop them in.

Mine are also getting little scraps of frozen cichlid mix with beefheart, that seems to go down well. Also occasional sprinkle of NLS discus pellets seems to go.

They're sharing with Caridina shrimps at the moment, so if they're not quick anything is gone a day later.

I also tried pumpkin, everything turned up its nose at that, and blanched snowpeas which magically vanished after a day (probably the shrimps).

I think they like algae too. Maybe if you added some ferts you would get more algae. I wonder where you could get some ferts... maybe from an online website? I have some spare in a box here, maybe you could have those!
